Description: Original WWII US M1 helmet. Front seam, fixed loops manufactured by McCord Radiator Co, heat stamp 657B (Fall 1943) with original OD3 chinstraps w/ brass hardware. Comes with original high pressure liner with OD3 suspension, original nape band and sweatband. I am unable to find the mfr's mark due to the amount of grime present at the bottom of the liner. Unknown yellow rectangle painted on the front of the liner, possible TAC marking? It somewhat reminds me of the 36th ID Salerno landing markings, though these marking were usually applied on the liner and exterior of the helmet. The shell retains its original paint, so does the liner. Name tape or other markings residue also present on the front of the liner. Moderate rust on the exterior, and on the liner component as shown on the photos. Overall a great early set with great field wear and patina.
