Description: A very nice example of a World War One British Army Other Rank's Cap Badge for a Crewman in the The Tank Corps 1916-1918 Founded in 1916, the first British Tanks saw action at Flers-Courcelette in September 1916 during The Battle of the Somme, designated as the Heavy Section of The Machine Gun Corps. However on July 1917 a Royal Warrant confirmed their separation from the MGC into The Tank Corps and by April 1918 it boasted 25 Tank Battalions & 1 Armoured Car Battalion. Its most famous action came at Cambrai in November 1917. A superb cap badge with a lovely dark-brown patina and an acceptable amount of 'honourable wear' to the front & some verdigris on the inside of the slider, measuring approx, 2" in depth, this is another very good looking WW-I badge.. Thanks for looking..!
