Description: VTG 1978 MARY LOU HIGGINS (NC, 1926-2012) EDWARD HIGGINS PAINTED POT ART POTTERY Crafted in the later half of the 20th century, this vintage art pottery by Mary Lou & Edward Higgins features a unique cream to beige color as the backdrop to a painting in variegated shades of gray and silver. The piece was produced in their studio in North Carolina in 1978 and is an original piece (rather than a licensed reproduction.) Edward Higgins was a potter and Mary Lou Higgins, a renowned artist. Mary Lou specialized in hand-painted pottery, particularly those made by her husband, Edward. This cup is an excellent example of her style and features her signature back-stamp, where she has written both Edward’s name and her own. The subject of this cup is both a face and a landscape and is a completely original, handmade work of art. The many shades of gray on the light beige background is warm & inviting and the hand painted silver rim adds a touch of elegance. This would make a beautiful, one-of-a-kind gift and is a great addition to any pottery and glassware collection. Measurements: Diameter: Height: Condition: In very good, preowned condition.
