Description: This vintage lot includes over 150 pieces of clothing for girls from the 1950s. It is a time capsule from a by gone era.The collection ranges from newborn, infant, toddler and to approximately the 4th grade and includes a variety of clothing, from every stage of child development through every season, in a colder climate. ( Northern Illinois)It includes but isn’t limited to, a snowsuit, with hat, boots, and mitts, knitted hats, booties, and sweaters. Cool weather jackets, shirts and pants, a robe, nightgowns for both cold and warm weather, from newborn through toddler. Dresses and sun suits, anklets, shoes, rompers and later, even a Brownie uniform and cap.Many pieces are handmade. Some of the pieces are knitted. A few pieces are duplicates ( that twin thing).They are made from cotton, wool, organdy, corduroy and flannel etc.The condition reflects their age and use. Some pieces have holes and/or stains. These pieces are not perfect. All pieces were washed decades ago and stored in a box, in a closet, above ground level ( not in a basement), for the next 50 years.They don’t smell Downey fresh, but they don’t have a musty smell either.2The first picture is ALL the collection piled up. It’s over 25 lbs of clothes.The other pictures hopefully reflect the progression of age. Except from the first picture, there is no duplication from one picture to the next The lot is perfect for those who love vintage children's clothing and are looking for a unique and diverse collection that reflects the decade of the 1950’s.
