Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE I AM NOT SELLING A KIT, only new, full-size copies of the ORIGINAL PLANS & construction article for the 62" Walt Good ROYAL RUDDERBUG to build this piece of RC history. The RUDDERBUG may have been the most successful early RC design by the Good Brothers. This ROYAL RUDDERBUG was an absolute hit with modelers who wanted to get into the newfangled field of radio control models. In the 1950s most used Piper Cub-like, stable free flight designs such as the BUZZARD BOMBSHELL or Scientific MERCURY Sr or Jr to guarantee their success. This ROYAL RUDDERBUG is basically a Cub-like free flight with rudder only control. However it is more sturdily built and it didn't look like a Cub anymore---it flew and flew well! The model has a 62" span, a straight chord wing with ample dihedral for wings-level stabilization when coming out of steep turns. It calls for a Class B engine so a good .20 to .35 would do fine today. These PLANS are the original full-size magazine plans that appeared in FLYING MODELS magazine in 1954. They are NOT Berkeley kit plans but the original Walt Good magazine PLANS and are the real McCoy allowing you to have a 66-year-old model of the earliest and most successful RC designs of all time. MY LAST PHOTO IS OF A NEW COPY OF THE OLD BERKELEY KIT PLANS THAT I LIST SEPARATELY. I AM NOT SELLING A KIT, only new, full-size copies of these classic RC PLANS and the construction article. YOU A PURCHASING NICE, CLEAN, WHITE, FULL-SIZE COPIES OF THE ORIGINAL MAGAZINE PLANS FROM 1954 AND CONSTRUCTION ARTICLE, FOLDED & IN A MANILA ENVELOPE. I list the above mentioned BUZZARD BOMBSHELL and SCIENTIFIC MERCURY Sr & Jr model plans separately.
