Vintage Restored 1920s EFFANBEE DOLL & Effanbee book-FAST SHIPPING,Pickup

Description: This is a beautiful vintage Effanbee doll, estimated to be from the early 1920s. She is 19.5 inches long, (head to toe-tip, laying on back,) and has painted-on blonde hair, blue eyes, and a light complexion. Her slightly open mouth shows 2 upper teeth and her tongue. She has a dimple at the base of each finger, a characteristic of certain Effanbees. She comes with an outfit that is not her original garb, and includes booties, bloomers, a dress, and a lace cap. Also included is the 272-page hardcover book “EFFANBEE DOLLS : The Formative Years 1910-1929”. The dolls depicted in the book that most closely resembled her face, such as the “Bubbles” series, were of different heights or had more specific markings on the back of the neck. We’ve placed small post-its on the pages that appear the most closely related to her. There is a round area on her back, so she may have originally been able to make a crying noise or say Mama, though no longer. She would make a lovely addition to any doll collection. This listing is offered AS IS. My Mother received this doll as a small child, likely in the early 1920s, and named her Jane. This doll possibly was purchased earlier, for her older sister. She was delighted when Jane was restored in 2013 by The Doll Mercantile in Petaluma, California. Jane's eyes open and close. She is in good condition for her age with the following specifics. (See photos.) Her lovely face has fine lines. Her fingers and toes show some wear. Her cute dress with pinafore, purchased circa 2012-2013, does not fit her perfectly. The top button behind her neck cannot be buttoned. Her cloth torso and upper legs are intact, but have had many small, dark spots at least since the 1950s, perhaps from age. She’s been well cared for and only in smoke-free homes. The doll with clothes weighs 2 lbs, 15.7 oz, and the book weighs 2 lbs, 6.4 oz. In stock and ready to ship by next business day.
