Description: Vintage 50/60s TINA LESER Original Designer Pink Chiffon Metallic Gold Dress, 1950/60s Formal Long Trumpet Sleeve Maxi Hostess Dress, Red Carpet Gala Gown... This includes the belt too!!! Very Rare to have. This is ALL ORIGINAL and has not been re-vamped at all or redone... Ive seen another with the lining redone and missing the belt for $2000!! Please read the descriptions here carefully. Dress is in need of professional cleaning to freshen it and to ensure best method and preservation. This wonderful piece, from my 95 year old aunts estate, is a 1950/60s vintage hostess gown is by prominent mid century designer Tina Leser. It is a soft pink sheer chiffon, with stunning metallic gold thread embroidery Inspired by Tina's travels.Label: Tina Leser Original label is missing and was cut out. . Ive verified via Google Lens to a identical dress offered up in Etsy for over 2K!. However that one is missing the belt..... I HAVE THE BELT! THAT in its self is amazing to have and is most exciting!Size: Please see measurements below... Laying flat The belt has a tag within but I dont know if it is LOT8 or SIZE8Id say it is either XS or SMALLPit to Pit is: 17”Waist: 13”Hip: 20”Length: 51” from mid across top shoulder to bottomNeck: 7 1/2”Sleeve at top of shoulder to pit: 7”Sleeve at bicep: 5 1/2”Sleeve width at wrist above flare: 4 1/2”Sleeve length from shoulder to end of ruffles: 21 1/2"The details within the embroidery are exceptional, appearing somewhat three dimensional, there are just so many details within the details! The liner of this dress is ORIGINAL cut beautifully, with a wide scoop Cammy look lining in the chest area inside that reaches from shoulder to shoulder in the front and a similar but lower cut scoop in the back, showing subtle chest and upper back through the sheer overlay of the dress.The long sleeves are very unique to the era with a wide frilly trumpet flare at the cuff. The embroidery of the trumpet flare cuffs is the same as the trim along the bottom of the dress, and there is a traditional Indian double column trim that runs up the length of the sleeves, up the center chest, surrounds the collar, and splits down the back over the back zipper. The sleeves remain completely sheer, but are double lined chiffon so the embroidery does not scratch the skin. A double hook and eye closure secures the back of the neck.This dress also has it's belt included!!History:Tina Leser is a prominent mid century American designer who was well traveled and is known for pulling influence from cultures around the world, primarily India, Hawaii, and Asia, having lived in both India and Hawaii at different times of her life. Leser got her start designing in 1935 and launched Tina Leser Originals in the 1950s. She closed her business for a brief hiatus between 1964 and 1966, and her first collection after re-opening was a tribute to India, with the fabrics used for the collection made in India on traditional Indian weaving looms. It would appear this gown is from that collection, as the Indian influence is undeniable with its gorgeous gold patterns, neckline, and design details.*Condition: Very good! The interior lining at the bottom of the dress has about a 3-4 inch lining rip in the material of the lining at the bottom, where a heel may have gotten snagged.... all shown in photo. It does not show on the outside...There is also some very slight on the gold threads in some areas of the dress. Regardless of these signs of wear, this dress is structurally sound and absolutely stunning, a true moment in time! It will need a cleaning. It has been hanging in garment bag for some 25+ years! or more! It is a delicate piece and deserves the utmost care and grace. No returns or refunds. It is a vintage piece and it is not perfect. However it is in very nice condition stored for many years. It will need a cleaning. And to worn according to its size and yours. Ive included all measurements.
