This Icon is often called THEOTOKOS OF THE PASSION. Theotokos means "God bearer" and the passion is represented by the Sword (held by the angel Michael in upper right) and by the Cross (held by the angel Gabriel in upper left). The icon measures about 5,5" tall and 4.5" wide, including the frame. I found it at a sale of pre-owned Catholic statuary and art. My guess is that it dates from the 1950s and was marketed as an inexpensive item so families of any means could have this icon in their home.
