Description: Vintage JEMCO hand tooled leather clutch purse Turnloc clasp. This handbag from the J.E. Margott Company features a unique twisting locking mechanism called a Turnloc Clasp (Pat.1-25-21). The clutch's locking mechanism is released by lifting the hanging metal and twisting it slightly. The purse measures 8 inches long by 7 inches high and 1 inch wide. The strap has a drop of 6". The outside leather and whipstitching are in very good condition with obvious signs of age and wear. The leather and whipstitching on the strap are also in very good condition. The interior is lined with olive green felt featuring two pockets measuring 3 inches by 3 inches. I do not know the exact age but would guess early 1920's.
