Description: This is a very nice bamboo fly rod made by Hardy Brothers. It is named "The Fairy". The rod length is 8'6", and I believe the line weight would be a 5 or 6 wt. The date stamp is E68179 which places the date of manufacture at approximately 1949. It is a 3 piece rod with a spare tip. One of the tips was repaired at some point in its history but does not take away from the rods overall excellent condition for its age. The rod comes with its original Hardy rod sock and lovely and very unique custom-made leather rod tube that appears to be of the same vintage.
