Description: Sweet jointed celluloid doll made in Japan. She is a little Black girl playing with her doll in one hand and baby bottle in the other. Jointed with string, marked Japan on back of head. I would describe her condition as very good overall, especially in light of the delicate nature of celluloid. There are no dents or cracks in the celluloid. Overall, the doll appears nice and bright. There is some fading to parts of the clothing. The left sleeve became folded up over time so the upper arm can be seen (compared to the other one). There’s no damage to that arm but you can see the little tab it was manufactured with. A bit of fraying to the edge of the material on that sleeve. The color on the celluloid body is lighter on some parts. The paint on the shoes and socks looks like it was applied in various thicknesses. A few of those thick areas look like they came off. Some of the areas, like the yellow, are just thinner/ lighter than others. There is a newer purple string that may have been a price tag at one point- it is attached to the white string of the leg and I didn’t try to remove it in case it damaged the original string- see last photo, although the string is a little hard to see. It doesn’t impede movement. I would recommend leaving it. The doll stand is included.
