Description: For all meteorology enthusiasts, or just the rest of us who like to know what the current weather conditions are, this 1960s wood and metal banjo shaped Air Guide Weather station would be a fun addition to a collection. With it's stately gold plated eagle ornament on top. carved wood details and finish on the two gauges on the bottom, it has the best MCM vibe. There are hanging holes on the back and would be functional and easy to add to your décor! and is a banjo-style. I do not know how to formally test the gauges. The thermometer and barometer reads accurate to the weather app readings at the time the pictures were taken. Less certain about the humidity gauge, it does not appear to be reading at all. (I note that it would be easy to take the back piece off and access the gauge and possibly correct what is keeping it from working.) The wood portion of the piece is in really nice, vintage condition. No chips, cracks or splits. The Barometer and Humidity Gauge have metal finishes that have darkened over time. I do not think they would polish effectively as the finish is rough. The glass covering over the Barometer is in really nice condition. The glass covering over the Humidity gauge has a speckled substance on the back of the inside. Not sure what it is ? It may be able to be cleaned off when the cover was removed. The eagle ornament on the top has spots where the plating has peeled a bit. Air Guide is noted on the face of the Barometer and Made in USA by Air Guide Instrument Company Chicago is along the bottom edge. No Model No. located.
