VERY RARE Beautiful, 2 Piece Antique 1870 Victorian Velvet Child's Suit, Doll

Description: Gorgeous, HAND-MADE Antique Victorian Deep Maroon Velvet Child's Special Occasion Coat & Matching Shorts, c.1870DESCRIPTION: Scans show it all.....Very nice, very cute antique Victorian little boy's dress-up outfit. Beautiful deep maroon velvet, both pieces matching. Both in EXCELLENT CONDITION, with no wear, stains, or holes/rips of any kind. MUSEUM QUALITY PIECE. Decorated round the collar and short sleeve sleeves as shown, and beautiful large white buttons to hold the 2 pieces together, with matching button holes, and to enable a flap to open when the occasion was necessary!! Several small mother of pearl buttons to hold the jacket together. Whole outfit appears to be hand made.Just as originally made. Nicely lined. AN ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL SET. Scans show it all, both back and front, and some of the details. I can not do it justice in the scans, but it is a beautiful, one of a kind outfit, in absolutely excellent condition. Beautiful in the style, with short pants ("little lord fauntalroy" or "Buster Brown"), the velvet, and the quality of the design and workmanship.From my personal collection. THIS COULD BE WORN NOW, TO PROVIDE A CLASSIC LOOK. IT WOULD ALSO BE A GREAT COSTUME, FOR A PARTY, or would make a dramatic wall decoration, framed, on a mannequin for display, as a background/accent piece in a collection, or as a decoration in a dress or clothes shop.
