The Model P Mono Block pair are designed for high quality home audio systems. They feature hybrid circuitry with a vacuum tube driver stage and a MOSFET output stage that combines the benefits of vacuum tube and solid state circuitry, using each to their best advantage. This is an improved model with lower noise and better high frequency response, note the very good square wave response. The tube driver stage uses a modified version of the original Philbrick operational amplifier, ca. 1952 (Ref. George A. Philbrick Associates) the large DC offset, common to tube op. amps is held to near zero by a modern operational amplifier servo circuit (Ref. Walter G. Jung "IC Op. Amp. Cookbook") On initial power up, the output is muted for about 30 seconds until the circuitry is stabilized.Additional protection is provided by a DC sensing circuit (Ref. ESP - Elliott Sound Products) RMS Power Output (each mono block) 40 W / 4 Ohm Load / 45 W 8 Ohm Load and 30 W 16 Ohm Load.Please see photos for all specifications and description. A robust +/- 48 VDC supply powers the MOSFET output stage. A regulated 12 VDC supply powers the vacuum tube heaters, servo circuit, DC sense circuit and the on delay timer. Note: Vacuum Tube circuitry operates with High Voltages, please be familiar with the servicing of vacuum tube circuitry and the Safety Precautions necessary when doing so or be in contact with someone who is.
