Description: TOLSTOY'S LETTERS Volume I: 1828-1879 & Volume II: 1880-1910 were published by Charles Scribner's in 1978. Translated by R. F. Christian, the letters are grouped by the correspondent. Volume I is 336 pages. Volume II continues to 737 pages with index. Volume I has eight pages of b/w photos, on glossy paper. Both bindings are blue with gilt lettering at the spine and both have gold dust jackets with photographs of Tolstoy. They each measure 6-1/4" x 8-1/2." Very good condition. There seems to be fading to the dj near the spine at the back however the volumes may have been designed that way. Second volume has a slight foxing smudge at mid spine of binding.
