Horns were recorded in L.A. by Bill Bergman(The Heat is On-Glen Fry, Jack Mack and the Heart Attack) on sax and Lester Lovitt(Jack Mack and the Heart Attack, Brian Setzer's Big Band) on trumpet. The restrained rhythm guitar leaves ample room for slinky vocals and understated organ....Hot File' turns out to be a daring debut: The Suspects recognize good songwriting and can emulate it."About the ArtistThe SuspectsBob Fahey-Guitar, Slide Guitar, Vocals-Bob was raised in Rapid and played in every local music scene since his teens. He is in his mid fourties and his stlye of writing is very blues based, remeniscent of Robert Cray.Jon Margolis-Drums, production-Jon hails from New York and has extensive recording experience in the NY scene. He was a member of the road band Dryjack with saxaphonist Bill Bergman, current LA session player and member of the Heart Attack horns. Jon is a precision drummer with extaordinary studio talent and can establish some very solid grooves and flavors. Currently a studio drummer for Wolfsong Studio.Greg McDonald is a veteran guitar player, singer, song writer and gives the band a distinctly jazz, fusion flavor. He was on the road and in LA for several years with the band Midwest Coast. Toured extensively with Up with People. Very strong and interesting soloist and technician.Bernd Winkler plays bass, has extensive road and local experience in most types of music. An import from Germany, albeit a few years ago, he is a groove oriented player and will fly off the handle if needed. He is the bottom end.Will Waller plays keyboards, sings, and writes for the group. He is a transplant from Alabama where his roots were in Southern Blues. He played in the Jazz ensemble in college and traveled extensively on the road with various groups and has played with and/or done shows with Jerry Reed, Crystal Gail, Delbert McClinton, Hal Ketchum, Leroy Parnel, Tinsley Ellis, Bobby Whitlock(Derick and the Dominoes), BB King, etc. He is a practicing urologist and owns and operates Wolfsong Studio in Rapid City. Both Jon and Will are members of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
