I know it's copper- I've seen some writings that suggest its from 1976 (not sure about that)- but it really is a nice looking coin- The other interesting things is the price range on here- anywhere from 3.99-to 79.00. I did see somewhere that there is one minted is gold and is at the Smithsonian- so good chance this isn't it..
