Description: Vintage original 11 x 14 in. (27.9 x 35.6 cm.) US lobby card, very fine condition. The two-reel silent film comedy THE CARETAKER'S DAUGHTER was distributed by Pathe in 1925 and directed by Leo McCarey. Produced by the prolific Hal Roach, the film stars the great Charley Chase in a case of multiple incarnations! The image features an interior medium shot of Chase wearing a disguise as he refuses the tray which is extended from his look-alike coming out from the other room. This happens while The Gunman/Prospective Car Buyer (George Siegemann) and The Young Married Man's Wife (Katherine Grant) both look at The Young Husband's Boss (William J. Kelly), all of whom are oblivious to the goings-on behind them. The caption in the upper right reads, "Wifey would trust any man about as far as she could throw a grand piano." The look on "Wifey's" face says it all. This vintage original lobby card is unrestored in very fine condition with two pinholes in each upper corner and one pinhole in each lower corner. There is a small area of surface dirt about the size of a quarter in the upper outer white border approximately 3 in. from the left upper corner. This lobby card was taken home by a man that worked for the Hal Roach Studio when this film was produced and was in his possession since 1925.
