Description: Rare, very early American magazine dedicated to the technical and artistic craft of photography. Very few of these magazines are still around. These 3 issues date from 1917. These magazines display wear as expected for a 110 year old artifact but are in good condition for their age. Please carefully review photos. Founded in 1897 by Frank Chambers as THE CAMERA, in 1923 it merged with THE PHOTOGRAPHIC JOURNAL OF AMERICA. Published monthly, with the volume number ranging from 6 to 12 issues at various times. Publisher and location changed frequently. Largely concerned with technical considerations, it reproduced b&w photographs by amateurs and accomplished Pictorialists,such as Leonard Misonne and Robert S. Redfield.
