Housed in custom black cloth clamshell, title on spine in gilt. Publisher's second state dust jacket, lacking the period after the text in the boxed announcement, salmon paper, $1.50 on spine, fine condition. This issue of Waste Land is the second state text, with "mount in" on page 41 and the "a" is dropped from water on page 22. (Gallup A6a) A beautiful example. Fine / fine. First published in December of 1922, the first copies were issued with "mountain" spelled correctly on page 41, line 339; but in later copies, the "a" dropped out. The first 500 copies were printed on flexible cloth boards and the limitation stamp measures 5mm. A second impression followed in 1923, with the wording of the limitation statement revised to reflect a "Second Edition."
