Description: Pimento Pepper Seeds The Pimento has virtually no capsaicin, and is one of the sweetest and mildest of the chili peppers. Pimentos are commonly used as the filling inside green olives, in the making of pimento cheese, stuffed to be served as an appetizer, and pickled peppers. Like many chilis, these peppers turn from green to bright red as they ripen, Pimento Peppers are also known as cherry peppers because of their red color and round-ish heart shape. Germination: Start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before last spring frost date. Plant about 1/4" deep. Soil temperature must be at least 70° F for seed germination and 80° is best, so keep them in a warm area for the best and fastest results. Start pepper seeds three or 4 to a pot, and thin out the weakest seedling. Once established and danger of frost has passed, plant in fertile soil 30" apart.
