This is presumed to be from what is now known as the Democratic Republic of The Congo. It is not a tourist item or a reproduction of any sort and is visually striking with evidence of naturally worn wood and pigments. Rare, fashioned from a medium weight wood, it weighs over 20 ounces or 570 grams and measures about 11.5 inches x 8 inches x 4.5 inches deep. Please study images.
