Description: Item details Quantity: 1 set as photoTotal weight: 388 grams Description Soviet photo camera Smena 8M, LOMO lens T-43 4/40 mm, made in USSR. ---------------------------------- Smena-8M is a Soviet scale camera produced by the LOMO association from 1970 to 1990. “Smena-8M” is considered the most popular camera in the world, the total production of which, together with the previous model “Smena-8”, exceeded 21 million copies. According to some sources, a more accurate number is 21,041,191 units (up to 1995 inclusive). The “8M” index was given to the “Smena-9” model in a modified body. The main difference was the appearance of weather symbols on the shutter speed scale and subject symbols on the meter scale, which made it easier to select exposure and focus. It became possible to determine the distance by the close-up of the shot: “single portrait”, “double portrait”, “group shot” and “landscape”. In the 1990s, the Smena-8M was replaced by the Smena-35 model with a more modern body and an improved viewfinder. Specifications: - Lens - Triplet “T-43” 4/40 (three lenses in three components), non-replaceable, coated. Lens field of view angle - 55°-. The diaphragm is iris. Thread for filter M35.5×0.5. -Available aperture values are from f/4 to f/16. -Shutter - central, behind-the-lens, shutter speeds - 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250 and “B” -. The shutter cocking is not interlocked with film rewinding. -The type of photographic material used is type 135 photographic film in cassettes. Frame size: 24×36 mm. -The case is plastic (bakelite), with an opening back wall. The take-up reel is removable, it is possible to shoot into an empty cassette without rewinding (most often this is what happened). Frame counter with manual setting of the first frame. -Cable sync contact “X”, clip for a removable rangefinder or for a photo flash. Some facts; - “Smena-8M” is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most popular camera on the planet. Together with the previous modification “Smena-8”, the total production exceeded 21 million copies. -Retail price in Soviet times was 15 rubles. -It still enjoys some popularity among modern film photography enthusiasts for its unpretentiousness, lightness, sufficient functionality and ease of repair and adjustment. -The flash can be synchronized with the central shutter at any shutter speed up to 1/250 s, which is not inferior to modern high-end SLR cameras. -The film was rewinded not by perforation, but by roll, which completely eliminated possible problems in harsh winter conditions. -The Smena-8M camera was equipped with an original take-up reel. The original receiving reel is currently of collector's interest (a small number has survived). -Inside the viewfinder there was a simple prism (a parallelepiped made of transparent plastic), which did not allow one to accurately determine the boundaries of the frame. -Shutter speeds are set smoothly, as is the aperture. Between shutter speeds 1/15 and “B” you can set the shutter speed slightly longer than 1/15 sec. -Due to the fact that the shutter is not interlocked with film rewinding, repeated exposure for one frame is possible. On the one hand, this can lead to errors, on the other hand, if used skillfully, it provides the opportunity for creative experiments with multiple exposures. ---------------------------------- The buyer will receive exactly the same item as in the photo.
