Description: Sixth Plate Daguerreotype Young Woman Gutta Percha Embossed High Relief Case --- Soft hinge embossed case showing a woman/mother and child, both hinges have cracks (diagonal cracks top and bottom of each hinge on both sides, see photos). NOTE that the year 1849 has been scratched on the back side of the case (see photos). I read that the more embossed cases have soft hinges. I didn't clean the case itself, as you can see it has dust build up. The case has two cracks on the top edges (see photos). The daguerreotype has various types of condition issues, I didn't want to remove it, there might be a clue to the case maker but I've been told not to remove a dag (although in this case the condition isn't such an issue but the edges look untampered with to my eye I guess). The mat is stamped M.P Simons Philada. I did check behind the velvet pillow on the inside of the case front but there are no maker marks or other information. Unknown subject/location. --- See photos for condition details. --- Will be well packed --- See shipping options above --- Payment expected within 3 days of purchase (contact me if you need more time). --- The item description is guaranteed to be accurate but all items are sold as-is unless otherwise stated. --- I don't have a way to arrange for a local pick-up of this item, I'm sorry for the inconvenience
