Description: A nice signed copy of Blanche Jennings Thompson's classic "Silver Pennies." 1926 fourth printing of the original edition. Illustrated by Winifred Bromhall. Signed by the author with an inscription reading: "To Mary Jane Russell of the 'Repair Crew' with many thanks. [Dated 1926]" I have no way of knowing who this Mary Jane Russell was, but will note that the famous model Mary Jane Russell happened to have been born in 1926. A signed gift to her (presumably via her parents) on her birth? Probably not, but who knows? Very good. Tight binding. A little light rubbing at corners. A tiny bit of fraying at end of spine. There's a small "dent" at the bottom of the front cover. I didn't actually notice this until I saw the photo - see also close-up photo of this area for comparison. Endpapers slightly foxed/discolored. Text clean (other than author's inscription). See photos.
