Description: Neeme Jarvi/GSO/Tchaikovsky: 1812, Marche Slave Factory Sealed. Deutsche Grammophon digital recording. Factory sealed. A jewel case crack on the front and back. Genre/Style/Featured Instruments: Classical / symphony Label: Deutsche Grammophon 5171504 Format: 1 x CD Stereo Country: Made in the United States Year Released: (unknown) UPC: 717794715026 Additional Notes: CD Grade: New / Sealed Factory sealed CD. Keep in mind CD's are different than analogue vinyl LP's. Scratches are less of a concern when grading the sound quality of a CD verses a vinyl record. A lightly scratched vinyl record surface degrades the sound of a vinyl record. CD's are different. Even a heavily scratched CD will play well as long as the laser can see through the underside and read the digital information burned into the backside of the label. In some extreme cases the clear polycarbonate may have a scratch so bad (gouge) that it disturbs the laser, in which case over sampling will fill-in the missing information. Most people cannot hear interpolation. The clear polycarbonate underside is there, by design, to act as a protective layer over the digital information. If the label is scratched through then the digital information will be lost. Evaluating the condition of the label is more important than the clear underside. Shipped in pro-quality CD mailer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ END OF LISTING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CD Grading Standards (M) (SS) (M-) Mint, Still Sealed or Mint Minus: ?Mint? indicates perfect in every way, certainly never played. Only factory sealed CD's will be deemed "Mint". Some factory CD's do not come with shrink wrap. "Mint Minus" is a grade I am reserving for factory sealed CD's that I opened to inspect the contents for rarity. This grade also guarantees that the CD has never been played. I may also use a "Mint Minus" to grade a sealed CD that has tears in the shrink wrap.(NM) Near Mint: A near perfect, rarely-played CD. The case may have a few scratches but the CD looks clean with no visible scratches, scuffs or other marks. Artist signatures are the only acceptable forms of handwriting for this grade. Basically, "Near Mint" looks as if you just got it home from a new store and removed the shrink wrap.(NM-) Near Mint Minus: Same as above, yet shows only faint very light surface scratches or scuffs on the playing surface which have no effect on the sonic quality. The case may have a few easily visible scratches and/or sales stickers, which will be noted. Artist signatures and minimal owner marks are the only acceptable forms of handwriting for this grade.(VG+) Very Good Plus: Shows some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. CD surfaces may show signs of use and may have light surface scratches that do cause read head problems. A jewel case may be cracked and/or the top cover hinge tabs may be broken, this will be noted. Special Note: (+) Plus: An extra "plus? may be added occasionally to a grade to highlight the finer points of some better grades.
