I’m making 100 pairs of boots and am thankful for those who have been very special clients in supporting my endeavor. Santa Fe Opera had no budget or foresight in utilizing these boots. I thought they would make a good ad “wear your boots to the opera”, as was the unofficial consensus of NM style. Therefore, I am just offering these boots to anyone who will appreciate them. This listing is basically the equivalent of showcasing them at any local venue “First Friday” or exhibit without the headache of getting an organization on board. Welcome to my eBay “First Friday”. I thought they would be a cool pair to make. They were and are a unique pair of boots and a lot of work went into making them. Making cowboy boots from scratch is an incredibly difficult craft to master. I made these special boots for my late Mother-in-Law the year before she passed. She frequented the Santa Fe Opera for many years, often seeing each summer’s complete line up. While she saw them as I was making them, sadly, she never got to wear them. I am therefore describing this pair of boots as “New, other”. “New”, they have never been worn. “Other” in that they are a handmade object. They are fully leather lined and completely hand sewn, hand welted, steel shank, leather insoles, leather outsoles. The top inlay is multiple layers of hand skived leather crafted as a one piece top rather the traditional side seam style. Touches of platinum metallic inlay on counter, vamp and tops. Constructed without pull straps. They were displayed and received a 2022 New Mexico State Fair First Place. The claim tag and ribbon are included. Also included in the sale is a pair of opera glasses. These boots will be shipped USPS Priority, tracked and insured. Santa Fe Opera was built on a Mexican size 5 last which is generally equal to a women’s USA size 8. However, these are a wide last, equal to “D” width in heel and ball. Please NOTE: The green boot lasts are NOT included in the sale. Shown only for reference. Shaft Height: 13.5” inches tall Heel height: 1.5” inches Shaft Circumference: 14.75” inches very top of boot. Last measurements: this was a straight last without customization to a particular foot. Short heel: 33.5 CM Ball: 23 CM Length: My foot is 25.5 CM weight bearing from center of heel to tip of big toe total length. This is the maximum length foot for these boots in my opinion. They are a one of a kind New Mexico boot and were another opportunity to gain experience and become better at the incredible detailed craft of bootmaking. Experienced shipper. Thanks for looking!
