The fiber is pre-washed followed by hand picking of vegetable matter, opening, two washes and two rinses. The washing process allows for a gentle moving of water through the fiber to avoid agitation. Temperature controls prevent shock to the fleece as it soaks. No harsh chemicals are used in the cleaning of the fleece. A Stonehedge picker and carder processed the washed fleece. The fiber is washed with a mile detergent until there is no hint of the die in the clear warm water, This GORGEOUS roving is from Tim at Alford Family Farms and Spinnery. They are perfect for spinning and knitting into warm garments! The carded fiber is super easy to spin on a spinning wheel or drop spindle.
