The main character, Samuel Pickwick is a kind and wealthy old gentleman who founded the Pickwick Club. Pickwick and 3 other members of the club make journeys to places remote from London and report on their findings to the other members of the club. Royal Doulton produced Dickens characters in several forms, one of which was miniature busts. This bust is Mr. Pickwick and was produced from 1939 to 1960's. It is from the "A" series. This number (the one at the right side of the crown's mark), when added to the year, will give you the year of manufacture of a particular piece. The letter A to the left of the crown was a mark added to pieces between c 1939-1955. Condition: Pre-owned and in excellent condition, no chips, cracks or repairs.
