Description: Restored antique / vintage cast iron fireplace. Fully restored, stripped and polished with Liberon Iron Paste which has been buffed to give a graphite shine, but could be made matt black with another coat and no buffing. Approximate dimensions: Width at top 64.5cm Width fixing lug to fixing lug 66cm Height 92.5cm Max depth of top 3.8cm Max width of opening 35 cm Max height of opening 58cm Max width of leg at bottom 15cm These should not be considered absolutely precise! Good condition for its age, no obvious damage or repairs. It is old and has had a life however, so it isn’t perfect. Overall condition is as shown in photos. There are discrete fixing lugs on either side, and loops and screw fixings on the back. The loops and screw fixings protrude slightly (could be cut off if required), but otherwise the fireplace is pretty flush at the back and wouldn’t necessarily need to sit over an opening. The fittings to attach to a mantlepiece are present. It would look lovely if paired with a mantlepiece of a contrasting material. Collection in person from Macclesfield or near Leek possible.
