Description: Three Girls on a Chicken1941 Potter 214. See my last photo for the page reference from Potter's The Prints of Reginald Marsh, where he references two proofs in state I--this is clearly an intermediate proof in which Marsh sketched in the additions that would comprise the second state. Signed by Marsh and identified as a proof. Another note states "Arches smooth", which must refer to the paper used. The platemark is very heavy and has introduced some wrinkles into the upper corners of the sheet; you can even see the impression of the etching lines indented on reverse, as if they were slightly embossed. My final photos show the print with some sidelighting to emphasize the wrinkling. Some fading and grime in margins, as well as a fingerprint from Marsh in the corner of the back.
