Description: These boots run true to size. I normally wear US 10.5D boots, and the 10.5D 1155s fit quite well. These 14D 1155s should fit someone who normally wears 14D boots, and possibly someone who wears 13.5D, or 13D, boots after putting in footbeds. In regards to the modification... New heel pads were put in by a professional cobbler to replace the original vinyl heel pads, which had warped over the decades. The new heel pads are made of calf skin leather and should be far more durable, and comfortable, than the originals. The original heels pads were warped to such an extent that they couldn't reliably be glued back in without the risk of curling again later on, and they won't be provided with the boots unless requested. It's worth mentioning these boots are factory firsts.
