Description: Rare RUSSIA & FINLAND March 1917 REVOLUTION Kerensky Stakhovich FREEDOM EQUALITY Product Description Extremely rare fold-over postcard in remembrance of the March 17 in Russia and Finland proclaiming Freedom, Equality, and Brotherhood. This is from the very short period when Kerensky was the head of the Russian government and Stakhovich was Governor-General of Finland. Alexander Fyodorovich Kerensky was a Russian lawyer, politician and statesman. He was one of the key political figures between March and October 1917, when he was a minister and later Prime Minister of the Russian Provisional Government. Kerensky was the only moderate prepared to take on the responsibility of heading Russia, and faced criticism from across the political spectrum when he was unable to avert the Bolshevik seizure of power and subsequent descent into civil war. Stakhovich was elected to the Duma in 1906 as an Octobrist and again to the second Duma in 1907, leading the Party of Peaceful Renovation. He was appointed Governor-General of Finland by the Russian Provisional Government on March 20, 1917 after the job was refused by Vladimir Dmitrievich Nabokov among others. He resigned on September 17. There is some corner wear, but still in very nice condition. This is extremely rare. This item will only be sent to countries that allow USPS international tracking.
