The jacket shows the expected wear and tear from military use: some light general staining, some moderate fraying at the cuffs, some moderate wear on the knit cuffs, some moderate wear to the alpaca wool around the collar, one missing button, and the zipper teeth as well as the underarm vents show signs of oxidation. The main issue is the presence of a LARGE HOLE/TEAR at the right side of the chest (see pictures). The Pique cloth is quite THIN & FRAGILE there, and the WHOLE AREA around the right chest will need mending/darning, Overall, despite the needed repair, it remains a great example of the classic U.S. Navy N-1 Deck Jackets from the Second World War, in the rare and sought-after Piqué variant. NOTE: A replacement button will be included. NOTE: This jacket has been dry-cleaned, but still might be a couple of washes away from regaining its glory.
