NOTE: Several -- not many - cards have been removed. Black hardcover sewn binding. Appears to be faux (or non-faux?) alligator leather, with triple wavey line design in silver, along top and bottom of front board, with 1 1/2 in. to 2 in. raised laquer or metal letters, red painted, spelling out A-L-B-U-M., repeated in silver paint to spine. Rear board triple-ruled in blind. 26 thick, card leaves (52 pp.) most with 3 - 5 glue-mounted greeting cards to each page, and some larger cards are 1 or 2 to a page. 178 cards in all. Cards mounted to all four endpapers as well. Many chromolithographs. Christmas, New Years, Birthday, Pontifical, French, Biblical, Record-or-Reward-of-Merit (Teacher-to-Student), etc. Several show a wee bit of surface rubbing away of color, but most are intact. Rubbing to extremities of alligator leather coversThe images are largely extraordinary, multicolored, bright and in wonderful condition. I would have liked to have met the person who put together this album, the vintage of which we estimate is somewhere in late 1880s to the early 1900s. Lithographers include Raphael Tuck & Sons, Obpacher Brothers, and others. Very Good.
