Description: This is a very convincing reproduction of a colonial era overshot coverlet. It is woven of cotton or in warm red and tan colors. The colors that look exactly like the colors used on an antique example. The coverlet is made from two panels seamed in the center just like an antique would have been made. The center seam is machine stitched in a zig zag stitch which almost resembles the type of hand stitching that would be used on an antique coverlet. This beautiful American primitive style coverlet is huge, measuring 110" X 96". It would fit on a California king size mattress. It would also fit just about any size bed. The overhang on the sides would change depending on the mattress size. The fabric is reversible. Though it has been finished for use on a bed, you could also use this gorgeous large piece of reproduction homespun fabric for an upholstery project. It is a heavy weight and durable fabric. I am not certain where this was purchased but, given the nice quality, I believe it may be a custom piece either made by the Seraph or custom made from fabric purchased there.
