Description: Pablo PICASSO “Jacqueline II” Pencil Drawing Not A Print on white fabriano paper. Signed and dated upper left in pencil. Picasso is known for drawing or painting characters very small, tiny. He used to paint flies on the wall to tease his friends. The signature matches Picasso’s signature from the same period. If you can get a good macro (up close) photo of the signature, you will see that the dotted (i) has been pulled down by the character to its left. With a clear macro shot you can see faces on both the dotted (i) and the character to its left. I purchased this drawing from a man who was going thru a divorce in Texas, who needed the money and who had not had this drawing examined by the family heirs of Picasso. The original drawing “Jacqueline I” hangs in the museum Picasso in France. I found the original Jacqueline and provided the photo as my ending pic. This original number 1 shown in the photo is a lithograph and was sold as such. J1 and J2 are both dated 4.4.55.. Off google search there is conflicting information on J1, with a 1967 and another dated 1942. Both wrong. Jacqueline II is a drawing in pencil and is 100% guaranteed as such. I have studied Picasso’s drawings and paintings like a crazy person , (I’m not) as I purchased another Picasso painting on paper totally amazing. I’m currently going through the Picasso admin process to authenticating it. I had not the time to submit this drawing Jacqueline II. Picasso Administration is found on google search. PROVENANCE: eBay copy of listing provided on photo and states it came from “when I purchased this, I received a verbal provenance, that it was purchased from a Publisher and it was part of a collection I bought with 7 other works. All of them are professionally framed.” Frame. 38 x 35”. Drawing 22 x 25” Beautiful gold frame I purchased Jaqueline II around 4/2005. I have a better copy of original listing which I’ll post. Great conversation piece with a chance of it being worth millions if you can prove it to Picasso Administration. Only they can provide a certificate of authenticity for anything Picasso related. Do your research on anyone stating they provide certification. Nope Picasso Admin certificate will demand the $$$. Thank you to all who reached the end. Good things coming folks.
