The tape does have a strong initial hold, but keep in mind that it does take 24 hours to fully cure and make sure to properly clean the rails before installation. Once the tape has fully cured, it is waterproof and strong enough that you definitely won't have to worry about these falling off no matter how hard you ride. The tape is also rated for easy and clean removal, so you do have the option to swap out the guards and change the look of your board whenever you feel like it.
