Description: Premium Organic Japanese Kukicha Loose Leaf Green Tea Kukicha tea is quite different from other green teas, as it is a twig tea made mainly from selected first-harvest stems and green leaves which are steamed and roasted before blending. The organic loose leaf tea has a light green color in the cup with a touch of sweetness and low astringency. It has a unique taste among green teas; a slightly nutty, savory flavor with hints of honey and citrus and an exquisite aroma. Great after a heavy meal or later in the evening, Kukicha green tea has a lower caffeine content, and is a popular green tea in the macrobiotic diet. Brew the perfect cup of Kukicha green tea – hot or cold Temperature, amount of leaf, type of water and steep time are important factors you need to get right to make the perfect cup of hot Kukicha Japanese green tea. We recommend: Tea: 4g (0.14 oz. = 1 heaped tsp.), Water: 1 cup (200ml), Temperature: (75 - 85°C), Steep Time: 20 - 40 seconds. Kukicha Japanese tea can also be brewed cold.
