Description: This is a hand sewn leather case for the Norlund, Collins or similar style Hudson Bay small size hatchet heads. This is sewn from soft but medium wt. 5 oz. brown leather. It has a sewn flap held in place with a leather button and will fit an axe up to a 3 1/4" cutting edge, 6 1/2 " long, the back end is 2" tall, 1" wide. I use a leather button instead of a metal snap. Metal snaps tend to freeze up during winter and cease to function. The front or blade end has a leather insert and rivets to prevent the stitches from being cut.
