Brother Blood! Raven and Starfire team up to save a baseball stadium crowd from terrorists, unaware that they are being monitored from the satellite base of the criminals' secret backer. Meanwhile, Cyborg's ex-girlfriend, Marcy Reynolds, is murdered when she tries to escape the confines of the Church of Brother Blood, a pseudo-religious commune she had joined. Infiltrating the cult to seek information on Cyborg's behalf, Robin, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, and Raven (in their civilian identities) are horrified at Brother Blood's methods of dealing with any acolyte who tries to leave his group. Their true identities discovered, the four battle Blood and his followers, but are easily defeated, and Raven's soul-self escapes to warn the other Titans. The Night Force Baron Winters returns to the interior of Wintersgate Manor after a brief time-traveling escapade to Medieval England. He receives a telephone call from reporter Jack Gold who wants to confirm a scheduled interview. The Baron agrees to see him, but before Jack can prepare, he has other business to attend to. Jack goes to the Pentagon and finagles his way into the file room. He manages to sneak a peak at several classified documents pertaining to something called Project Satan before he is escorted from the building by Major Carson. An employee named Kari Holmes witnesses the matter and makes a private call to her secret employer. Jack leaves and pulls his rent-a-car up to a fuel station. He steps out of the vehicle to make a phone call, leaving the gas station attendant free to look the vehicle over. Upon starting the ignition, the car explodes, killing the attendant. Meanwhile at Georgetown College, Professor Donovan Caine conducts an experiment with his parapsychology class in which they go through the motions of a Satanic mass. At the Potomac Psychiatric Hospital, patient Vanessa van Helsing feels the psychic resonance caused by Donovan Caine's experiments. She begins freaking out and the orderlies storm into her room to sedate her. Doctor Rabin is at a loss to explain her condition and reluctantly consults with Baron Winters. Winters examines Van Helsing and inwardly smiles, knowing that all of his plans are slowly falling into place. NOTE: The creative team behind the Night Force preview Marv Wolfman, Gene Colan, Bob Smith, and John Costanza are the same team that worked on the majority of the popular 1970's Marvel Comics title, Tomb of Dracula. In this preview, the reader is introduced to a character named Vanessa van Helsing, later revealed to be the granddaughter of the infamous Professor Van Helsing of Dracula fame."
