White becomes brittle much faster. This Starboard is made for use in the sun and will provide many years of use.. These rectangular pieces have a different texture on both sides: 1. Main side (main photo) shows the large texture side, considered a AS (Anti-Skid) surface. These are commonly used for steps and other non-slip surfaces on boats, etc. Works well with deck shoes, but not so good with bare and wet feet. (be warned - every plastic is still pretty slick when it gets wet). 2. Back side has much less of a texture. This texture is primary put on the board to hide scratches, but there may be scratches on the backside. If the board was shiny, it would show every little scratch and water stain. Good solution is for manufacturers to put a dull/flat texture.However, due to handling, there may be a few scratches on the backside of these. Do not buy if you intend to use the backside - save some dough and buy stuff without the non-skid. I only have 9 more of these left (see ebay count) - cut to this size for some industrial use in my last business. Still in excellent condition (they were bulk wrapped in shrink wrap). All the same exact size (cut by the plastics supplier before sending to us):17.5" long by 11-15/16" (almost exactly 17.5", and slightly under 11.8125” (11-13/16”)1/2" thick.
