Description: Fashioned from the original material intended for the film version of Dune, written by Alejandro Jodorowsky and originally illustrated by Jean Giraud. The Incal, initially sourced from pages originally released as A John Difool Adventure in Métal Hurlant and published by Les Humanoïdes Associés, introduced Jodorowsky's "Jodoverse" (or "Metabarons Universe"...a fictional universe in which his science fiction comics take place. It strikes you at once as a terrible shame their version of Dune was never produced and at the same time thankful that the material ended up in the Incal… On the page and in prose for everyone to appreciate instead of being one of those lost productions that no one would ever see. Mobius designed this promotional poster for marvel to introduce the Incal as part of a series of works that encompassed his career and life‘s work in A series of releases made available to marvel readers in the early 90s. The poster was part of a series of promotional items marvel used to introduce Mobius his work to the American audience it was only available to comic book stores at that time and was never released to the public… This poster is in the same condition as received from marvel and is an important artifact from the period that marvel attempted one of the largest releases of work from the French master.
