Description: This mica pigment has such a unique shift to it. One of our go to colors when it comes to applying on a cars. This colorshifting mica pigment is white in powder form. This means you're able to use just about any color base really and still see the shifting effect. This one was used over a very light grey base. Almost off white. Shifts from a Magenta > Orange > Green The BMW was over a Light Grey BaseThe Chevrolet was over a light green/teal baseThe Audi was over a black base The Mustang was over a black base The Tesla was over a dark grey base FAQ Q: How much pigment do I need? A: A few factors here. The application used, the base color and the end goal result. If you are planning to use standard auto paint, 25 grams per half a gallon (2 quarts). If you are using peelable paint, 25 grams per gallon. Now that doesn't mean you have to use the above amount. This is just a starting suggestion. Being a pigment, there is a semi-translucent effect to it. The less pigment and/or coats applied will yield in softer/lighter effect and of course the more pigment and/or coats applied the more shift effect takes place however there is a too much when it comes to paint and pigments. Start low and adjust from there. Question: What color base should we use? Answer: Any really! Black base is pretty standard while the lighter bases such as light grey, teal or even a nice soft lavender color looks good. I dont suggest a bright white base. I've found that white is too blinding for the shift to be seen. Of course spray a sample prior. Computer/Phone screens, pigment load, coats and basecoat all play a factor. Test test test.
