I believe that they pressed 5,000 copies on red vinyl however, available ONLY THROUGH METALLICA'S WEBSITE, thet pressed only 2,000 copies on clear vinyl. I ordered this album directly through the Met Store. I am the original purchaser/owner of this album. The record features 33 RPM speed and is made of high-quality vinyl material. The compilation LP is a perfect addition to any music collection and is a must-have for fans of the metal genre. Most notably, this album features the original first ever release of the Metallica song "Hit the Lights" with the ORIGINAL 4 horsemen of metal, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Dave Mustaine and Ron McGovney. The record label, Metal Blade Records, released this LP in the early 1980s as a sampling of up & coming metal bands (not only Metallica but bands like RATT, MALICE, and STEELER, just to name a few. The clear vinyl adds a unique touch to the overall look of the LP. This LP is a rare find and is a great investment for any vinyl record collector.
