These are getting harder and harder to find, and you can keep them in your typewriter all the time, just re-spool fresh ribbon onto them as needed. Plastic spools won't give your manual typewriter the look it was meant to have. These vintage metal spools were made to fit a wide variety of Smith-Corona manual portable typewriters.
