Description: Mervyns California Missions Series Vintage San Buenaventura NO CROSS History: Mission San Buenaventura, named for Saint Buenaventura, was established March 31, 1782. Ninth of the 21 California missions, San Buenaventura was built under the direction of Father Junipero Serra. It was the final Mission competed before his death. Mission San Buenaventura prospered because of its extensive irrigation system in a climate that was favorable to fruits, grains and vegetables. Pre-owned, the cross is missing and the box has wear.
