Description: Mary Lee ~ Tender BoughPhotography by Alice & Peter Gowland 1970 Sixth Printing Softcover Publisher - Crown ISBN none Notes: Straight out of the 60s/70s, West Coast free spirit Mary Lee writes of love & peace in free flowing verse in this, her first published book from 1969. She has continued to write and teach and publish. Profusely filled with photographs by renowned photographers Alice & Peter Gowland - on every page!An excellent example of Concrete / Visual poetry. Condition: 'Good+'.This copy has been well read and well traveled. Technically it's still sturdy, but has outer cosmetic issues and appears a bit rough. Priced accordingly. Not sure if restoration would help this book, but it's certainly ripe for a tear-down that would make for nice individually framed pages, or for collage artists. Covers - front cover has lots of edge wear, dings and a crease across the lower right corner. Back cover, lower left corner has a 2" x 2" piece ripped away, and someone has done some tape mending there to keep it from getting worse. Spine has been rubbed/scraped a bit and is slightly difficult to read. Interior - is mostly clean - no writing, marking or highlighting. No dog-eared pages. Just a hint of of sun-fade/tanning to the outside edges, tho only noticeable on the white edge pages, not the ones with full photos. One other flaw to mention - the first signature-gang of 15 leaves (30 pgs), has come slightly loose from the interior binding but is still holding strong (see pics). ************************* * Free bonus to the buyer of this book: Any single issue of Poetry magazine you see in the last 2 pics. They are all from 1990s to early 2000s, and in excellent condition. When you pay, add in the Comments/Message section which one you want. If you don't, i'll send one at random. All books i sell are mildly wiped down and dusted clean via air duster. While some may have an old book smell there is no mildew/dank smell to any. All are from a smoke free // pet free home. All are just dying for a new home and to be read again! Packaging: Will be expertly & carefully wrapped to insure a happy journey & safe landing!
