LOT (3) MAXOLITE "Diffuser" Lights . . . 100+ Old w/Period Globes -RARELY Seen

Description: Lot of (3) "Maxolite Diffuser" Light Fixtures 100+ Years Old in Beautiful Condition w/Period Milk Glass "Diffusers" . . . Extremely RARE . . . Maxolite fixtures were produced by the Central Electric Company in Chicago, IL; these fixtures have a patent date of 1919, and I believe these three fixtures are of that vintage. I purchased this group of Maxolite fixtures about 12-15 years ago and have NEVER seen these elsewhere. They have all the hallmarks of early 1900's fixtures: beautifully cast forms; brass and bronze fittings; and innovative "engineering." Two fixture pins support a portion of the milkglass diffuser's neck, while the articulating feature of the bronze mechanism swings into position on the underside of the fixture housing. The small screw on the mechanism locks the bronze "wing" into position . . . securing the globe. Each fixture has a fully functional chain pull that has been professionally rewired. At the time I acquired these lights, I was reluctant to replace the wiring, so I had them rewired at LightWorks in Minneapolis, MN, . . . a professional studio that offers UL-listing and produces its own line of classically-styled light fixtures. The vintage pull-switch on each of these fixtures works perfectly; however, in the interest of prolonging their reliability, I would recommend the fixtures be wired and controlled by a wall switch . . . preferably a dimmer switch to utilize the full range of aesthetics this light can offer. Diffuser/globe diameter is 10" and fixture height from the base of the diffuser to the top of the Crouse-Hinds fitting is approximately 18". Each fixture is wired with a solid ground lead and a full 60+ inches of UL-listed cord. Fixtures are sold as a LOT of (3). There are multiple aspects to these fixtures; I've done my best to convey their condition with the photos provided. That said . . .
