Description: After over 50 years of collecting wooden ornaments from Europe, we are downsizing, so I am selling my extensive ornament collection. These are my CHRISTIAN ULBRICHT ornaments from Germany. I love these ornaments because their bright primary colors look beautiful against the green tree. Obviously, I also love trains (especially tiny ones!) The shortest train is 2 1/4”. The longest is 4”. The Ulbricht factory opened in 1928 in Steiffen/Erzgebirge. After WWII, the factory was moved from Steiffen in East Germany to Bavaria in West Germany. In the early 1990s, after Germany was reunified, Christian Ulbrich bought back his business to Steiffen. Today the company has locations in both Erzgebirge and Bavaria. My Ulbricht ornaments have 4 different hang tags or labels. I think the oldest ones are the labelwith, "Holzkunst Chris. Ulbricht Handmade in West Germany." I am guessing these ornaments were made before the company went back to Steifen in the 1990s. The other label has, "Holzkunst Christian Ulbricht West-Germany." Both hangtags have "Handmade in Germany-Erzgebirge." (4) If an ornament does not have a tag, I have included a picture of the ornament from a catalog I have from the 1990s.
